The Communications Project Manager ensures that AJ’s clients have the best client experience possible. They are charged with the development and activation of communications deliverables, often several at one time. This person functions as a critical interface between the client and AJ’s project teams, actively listening during client meetings and partnering closely with the creative director to ensure messaging is always aligned to purpose. 

  1. Builds and maintains project plans for the assigned portfolio  
  • Creates and consistently updates a master timeline for the engagement, which may include the roll-up of several deliverable timelines, using Monday.com.  
  • Creates and manages clients’ annual communications calendars.
  • Manages the development and dissemination of status reports to clients on a regular basis, often across multiple stakeholders.
  • Oversees the moving parts and pieces to ensure that everything stays organized (i.e., managing and ensuring assets and documents are organized and accessible per agency protocol), in partnership with Production.
  • Procures the resources necessary to accomplish exceptional work on time and on budget.
  1. Ensures strong team communication
  • Coordinates a cross-functional internal team of strategists, creatives, designers, animators, video producers, coordinators and more to deliver work.
  • Coordinates the securing of resources for deliverables as they arise and proactively planning with discipline colleagues.
  • Ensures all team members are informed of their own timelines and deliverables (traffic).
  1. Manages operational and financial aspects of the assigned portfolio
  • Performs budget reconciliations, at least quarterly.
  • Puts together and submits monthly client invoices (in partnership with Accounting).
  • Ensures projects are in compliance with the governing Master Services Agreement (MSA) for the client relationship.
  • Owns and manages staffing grids for assigned businesses.
  • Completes quarterly reconciliations for assigned businesses.
  • Always seeks efficiencies and ways to simplify the complex (fewer meetings, grouped deliverables and reviews, etc.)
  1. Production of communications deliverables
  • May play a production role on communications deliverables (largely videos, podcasts, texts, decks and scripts).


Our ideal candidate possesses:
  • A degree in marketing, communications, change or a related field;
  • 4+ years of experience in a client service environment;
  • Fluency in our business and offerings – events, communications, digital, etc., and;
  • The ability to manage complex solutions with multiple stakeholders.

  • Highly organized with flawless attention to detail, and;
