WE Communications is looking for a Senior Vice President who wants to be a part of our thriving technology sector. In the last year, the sector has expanded by winning global retainers of size/scale as well as organic growth with existing clients. The SVP has the opportunity to join this winning team as a strategic leader of one of our top anchor accounts at a pivotal moment of its growth.  

 

Your superpowers are setting the pace for the team, looking around corners and developing a strategy for accelerating the business. You love to geek-out on the technical details…AND you know how to translate complex technology solutions into impactful stories that tie into current tech trends and customer needs.  You use data to inform your strategy, and you have excitement for driving bold, award-winning communications campaigns. You have strong experience managing a large-scale team for a technology account.

 

You are a trusted client advisor who is progressive in bringing clients/new business prospects strategic counsel, creative ideas for driving business impact and established media relationships to give voice to your client’s story.  You have excellent presentation skills and know how to bring complex ideas to life. You know how to communicate a brand’s story in a way that shows broader impact both inside and outside the industry.  Collaborating across teams is second nature. You are a strong team manager with a focus on coaching, mentoring and growing talent on a high-performing team, and welcoming diverse experiences and opinions.

 

Based on the East coast, the SVP will lead a team that will help shape the transformation of one of the world’s biggest technology companies.

 

 

What you'll be doing

Client Service

  • Primarily responsible for leading a technology communications team for a large-scale tech client.
  • Provide senior strategic counsel for clients across a range of technology categories including enterprise, cloud, AI, etc.
  • Supports communications planning and execution of both corporate -based campaigns/launches that span owned, earned, paid media strategies as well as product.
  • Supports executive communications platforms across a variety of C-Suite executives.
  • Create and encourage the development of proactive ideas and programs outside “what’s always been done”
  • Manage a variety of client requests, assume responsibility and understand when to delegate to key team members.
  • Maintain focus on industry trends and articulating opportunities and watchouts 6, 12, 18+ months out on the horizon.
  • Established relationships with range of influencers, including media, analysts and 3rd party advocates; supports storytelling efforts on behalf of clients and has a passion for translating complex technologies.

 

Business Development

  • Supports technology sector leadership in driving and securing new business as needed, contributing towards the profitability technology sector. Includes proactive, RFIs, pitches, and scopes. Ability to present well thought out but concise ideas.
  • Provides timely strategic POVs on audience/channel/marketplace trends, to support new business opportunities, and generally to advance our collective work.
  • Supports tech sector strategy POVs through externally published articles as needed.

 

Team Leadership

  • Operates as a visible leader in the agency, embodying agency values and inspiring those around them.
  • Creating and sustaining strong collaboration and integration with agency leaders
  • Partners with teams across multiple offices that provides high-quality integrated communications services.

What you've been able to accomplish

Minimum/Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 12+ years experience in communications or related area of expertise or practice/sector area expertise. Demonstrated ability to grow existing client relationships and a true client ‘whisperer.’
  • 3-5 years of agency or corporate experience, preferably working with global B2B brands in the technology sector.
  • Ability to communicate and present complex technologies into simple to understand concepts and stories. Excellent verbal, written, presentation and problem-solving skills
  • A strong understanding of traditional media, digital and event marketing strategies, how to integrate campaign strategies and tactics across earned, owned and paid media and apply analytics to measure results and provide insights.
  • Strong operational acumen skills and expertise, including ability to help drive sales and new business. Experience managing and growing revenues
  • Refined understanding of the integration of marketing, creative, account planning, media, technology and supporting customer analytics.
  • Attention to detail and the understanding the imperative to deliver polished work at all times
  • A thirst for knowledge and a desire to constantly enhance your skill set
