Microsoft is looking for a communications professional to develop a sustained, multicultural communications effort. As a key member of the Microsoft Communications organization, you will help pull together the goodness of our current work and lead future work to help us showcase the breadth of the Microsoft story.

This role will require you to be an effective influencer, data-led decision maker, collaborative and creative communications partner, and someone who is experienced in deeply understanding audience psychographics and behavior.

Your ability to blend strategy, prioritization, communications experience, audience insights, understanding of human behavior, and social media will help you set the course to help change perceptions and build our audience and customer base.

You’ll work cross-functionally with Microsoft teams, such as social media, PR, corporate storytelling, employer brand, employee communications, and creative expression, to deliver a successful, integrated, multicultural communications strategy, plan, and programs.

Responsibilities

 

Cultivate strategic relationships and collaborate across multidiscipline teams in marketing, communications, and business groups to help evangelize the opportunity and vision of communicating with multicultural audiences.

Build and execute a multiple-year, connected, and measurable business and communications strategy that leverages social media, PR, corporate storytelling, employer brand, employee communications, and creative expression as tactics to deliver on communications objectives.

Develop an on-going reporting rhythm to act on industry and societal insights related to consumer behavior across different identities and communities and to measure Microsoft’s communications performance and impact with each audience group.

Serve as the voice of the consumer across a variety of multicultural audiences by closely counseling colleagues in the Communications organization to develop and execute strategies that connect Microsoft’s mission with the needs of the audiences.

Provide thought leadership by codeveloping standards and practices for establishing relationships with multicultural audiences across a variety of communications disciplines and for assessing future-oriented communications and storytelling methods.

Continually work with your team, peers, and agency partners to cultivate a positive, creative, and energetic culture that helps generate innovative ways to engage multicultural audiences.

Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications

5-7 years of work experience in corporate/brand communications, including PR, digital marketing, or influencer marketing.

Experience with consumer audience development, including applying audience insights and understanding to communications strategy.

Experience with marketing or communications across a range of identities and communities.

Experience managing complex projects with a PR or influencer marketing component in a fast-changing environment.

Good business judgment and ability to harmonize varying business objectives diplomatically.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Experience creating structure around a new and unformed program, requiring strong project management, budget management, leadership counsel and communication, and the ability to partner to connect strategies.

Experience with PR or creative agency management.

Bonus: Experience mentoring and guiding early-in-career talent.
