The Hatcher Group seeks a senior associate to support work within our government sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of client advertising and marketing campaigns. They will manage the day-to-day operations and deliverables with a focus on managing schedules, budgets, and account operations. Project management is an essential function of this role to guarantee that client expectations are always exceeded on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, dependable, and always prioritizes exceptional customer service. They must excel at partnering with crossfunctional teams to execute strategy, manage priorities, and meet deadlines. The preferred location is within reasonable commuting distance to Bethesda, MD and/or Washington, DC for occasional travel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist Senior Director with daily client contact, updating and distributing briefs, writing contact reports, and facilitating workflow from client to agency.
  • Develop, deliver, and implement presentations and plans.  
  • Manage all elements and details of a program/project, including budget, timelines, contact reports briefs, and weekly status meetings.
  • Work in conjunction with digital and creative team leaders to evaluate the results of team’s performance to ensure compliance with contracts and client requirements. 
  • Provide strategic counsel to clients and enhance the value of the relationships.
  • Move project/campaign(s) forward to deliver product on time, within budget and in line with the clients’ brand strategy and Hatcher’s creative standards.
  • Manage all details related to a campaign to ensure successful implementation of the clients’ programs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team of professionals to ensure client success.
  • Proactively identify new opportunities for efficiencies and process improvements.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Affiairs, Advertising, Journalism, or related field
  • A minimum 3 years of professional experience
  • Superior project management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on projects
  • Proactive and process-oriented workstyle
  • Strong work ethic and ability to juggle multiple deadlines
  • Familiarity with Workamajig a plus
  • A background check/security clearance may be required (e.g. if necessary, this job is dependent on the ability to pass or obtain)
