Job Summary: The Marketing Specialist works with the Marketing Associate Director and experts within the Office for Communications and Advancement to support the strategic vision of the School of Education. The Marketing Specialist plays a crucial role in producing compelling communications and campaigns about school programs and initiatives across digital platforms and social media to a variety of internal and external audiences from diverse backgrounds.

The Marketing Specialist plays an important role at the School of Education to serve and improve our communities, the state, and the world.

Responsibilities:
  • Contributes to strategy development and implements marketing projects in support of institutional or unit marketing goals.
  • 30% Develops, implements, and maintains strategic marketing plans based on research and established strategies
  • 30% Develops, implements, and disseminates marketing materials through various communication mediums utilizing appropriate technologies and techniques
  • 20% Collects, analyzes, prepares, summarizes, and disseminates data and trends relevant to ongoing or future marketing activities
  • 20% Serves as a marketing liaison for a range of areas and provides a marketing perspective in a collaborative environment. These efforts include supporting web-based projects, events, public relations, communications, advancement, and creative needs.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree preferred

Qualifications:
  • Three years of experience in marketing or communications preferred
  • Experience in cross-cultural communications or lived experience working across cultures, age groups, and/or languages
  • Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) systems, email marketing and marketing automation tools (like Salesforce,Mailchimp, Eloqua, Asana)
  • Experience with WordPress or similar content management system
  • Demonstrated track record in writing marketing copy and creating marketing materials
  • Experience working in social media platforms and creating social engagement as a brand
  • Experience working in continuing education and/or higher education marketing a plus
  • Google Ads Certification and other digital marketing certifications a plus
Work type: Full Time: 100%. This position requires some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location, with the ability to work up to two days remote per week at an offsite, non-campus work location after an initial training period. Scheduling to be discussed at time of hire.

Salary: 
Minimum $50,000, depending on qualifications. Actual hiring rate will be commensurate with education and experience. This position will be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package.
