Overview
Connecticut Senator seeks an experienced Deputy Press Secretary to serve as a key member of the communications staff and to assist the team in effectively developing the senator’s message in state-based and national media. The position will work closely with the Deputy Communications Director to manage in-state press and also work with the Communications Director to executive the office’s broader communications strategy. This person will also provide support to the entire communications team by writing talking points, press releases, and statements; maintaining press releases and the website; organizing press events; staffing the senator at events and interviews; directing the press intern; and working closely with the DC and in-state staff. The position will work as part of an aggressive press shop, requires a team player with strong writing and communication skills, creativity, and the ability to produce quality work under pressure.
