ORGANIZATION INFORMATION:

Established in 1984, Equitas Health is a regional nonprofit community healthcare system. A federally-designated Community Health Center, it is one of the largest LGBTQ+ and HIV/AIDS serving healthcare organizations in the United States. With 21 offices in 13 cities, Equitas Health serves tens of thousands of patients in Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia each year through patient-centered, integrated, and cutting edge services, including primary and specialized medical care, pharmacy, dentistry, behavioral health, HIV/STI treatment and prevention, PrEP/PEP, Ryan White/HIV case management, care navigation, advocacy, and other community health initiatives. The Equitas Health Pharmacy is an integral and essential part of the health center’s comprehensive care and business models, reinvesting 100% of profits back into the organization’s programs and services. Equitas Health operates pharmacies serving patients in Ohio and Texas.

 

The Equitas Health Institute and the Buckeye Region Anti-Violence Organization (BRAVO) are divisions of Equitas Health.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing, the Marketing Communications Manager is responsible for creating and managing all of Equitas Health’s marketing campaigns. The Manager must be comfortable supervising the content team, creating and editing content, and interacting with various constituencies.  This manager should be especially skilled in proactive communication, both verbally and in writing. Travel will include regional offices when necessary.

 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Marketing

  • Develop and execute an annual integrated marketing plan for each service line
  • Plans and drives the implementation of all marketing activities
  • Prepares campaign summary reports of marketing initiatives
  • Educates staff on Equitas Health marketing policies, practices, and issues
  • Serve as a key content strategist of the marketing team, providing expertise on content strategy best practices, risks, emerging trends, and opportunities. 
  • Be culturally competent in creating content that will resonate with the communities we serve, including LGBTQ+, people living with or at risk of HIV, and communities of color.
  • Drive content development across patient journeys and consumer decision cycles.
  • Develop organizational content creation goals, strategies, and tactics, including the development of content strategies and associated editorial calendars to propel engagement with Equitas Health.
  • In strong collaboration with the creative manager, oversees the appropriate use of the Equitas Health brand
  • Cooperatively work with other departments to provide solutions within the brand management parameters
  • Provide orchestration among team members, leadership, key stakeholders, and internal teams (such as IT) and vendors/partners to ensure content is successfully delivered.
  • Manage copywriters to collect, write, and/or edit content for internal and external communications including newsletters, email blasts, blog posts, and departmental communications
  • Manage Social Media Coordinator to collect, write, and/or edit content for all social media platforms
  • Provide content strategy to guide website development and collaborate with Senior Director of Marketing, Creative Manager, and contractors to implement the strategy.
  • Solicit and edit content from Equitas Health experts for blog posts and other communication outlets.
  • Provide content strategy recommendations based on information through content analysis, site audits, competitive assessments, focus group testing, and metrics.
  • Establish and monitor staff performance and develop goals, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities and conduct annual performance appraisals 
  • Drive efficiencies to best manage resources including people, budget, and time

 EDUCATION/LICENSURE:

  • A bachelor’s degree in English, Marketing, Communications or Journalism or a minimum of 4 years of experience in marketing and communications

 Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Qualifications:  

  • At least 3-5 years of experience supervising marketing staff in a variety of marketing functions
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills required 
  • Professional experience in creating marketing/advertising campaigns and strategic content
  • Proven ability to independently create polished, engaging, and grammatically correct content that meets defined business objectives across multiple channels and platforms (email, 
    websites and social media) 
  • Proven ability to work across departments to build synergistic agency-wide content strategies
  • Professional experience in creating and updating web content using a Content Management 
    System (CMS) 
  • Professional experience and proficiency in managing corporate social media sites such as 
    Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.
  • Talent and desire to create new, innovative advertising and marketing strategies and ideas 
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment requiring a sense of urgency 
  • The high degree of flexibility and ability to maintain a positive attitude when responding to challenges 
  • Experience in metrics, measurement, and reporting for social media, SEO, and digital content 
  • Outstanding personal time management skills and ability to complete projects independently 
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance required
  • Must be computer literate (working knowledge of word processing, PowerPoint, Excel). Proficiency in Adobe
  • InDesign, HTML, Photoshop, and SEO/SEM experience a plus
