Job Summary:

As Marketing & Graphic Design Associate, you will play a critical role in a busy department where no two days are ever the same. We are seeking an energetic self-starter, who independently partners with programs throughout the organization to promote mission, services, and events, and to recruit participants. You will play a lead role in securing the organization’s brand identity, advertising and reporting on Henry Street events, designing marketing materials, advising on web design, maintaining publications and photo archives, and participating in key social media efforts. You will be onsite at least three days a week with a likely increase.

Qualifications:

  • Two years of professional graphic design experience creating flyers, postcards, posters, brochures, and web-based marketing materials
  • Proficiency with InDesign, PhotoShop, PowerPoint, Illustrator, Wordpress, Word and Excel
  • Experience with CRM software preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to shoot and edit photographs and video
  • Ability to take direction and work independently
  • A can-do positive attitude, flexibility, and a sense of humor
  • Solutions oriented and highly organized
  • Strong belief in and desire to promote the work of the agency
  • Some evening and weekend work required
  • Bilingual Spanish or Chinese a plus

 

Responsibilities:

  • Design and oversee printing of flyers, brochures, invitations, posters and postcards
  • Report and write stories about Henry Street events for internal and external print newsletters and the agency’s website
  • Shoot and edit short videos
  • Take and edit photographs around the agency
  • Maintain agency online photo archives
  • Promote events through community calendar listings
  • Edit and proofread materials
  • Manage outside translation vendors
  • Ensure promotional material displays are up to date in 18 Henry Street sites
  • Maintain press clipping files
  • Assist with social media efforts
  • Serve as a liaison among programs to raise awareness, promote services, and recruit clients
  • Collaborate with the Online Communications Manager; assume monthly website duties
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to conduct internal communications
  • Source and order agency premiums and giveaways
  • Represent the agency at street fairs and special events
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Essential Physical Job Function:

 Ability to climb several flights of stairs to the office
