The role:

We’re looking for an Engagement Consultant to support two key efforts of the Engagement & Services team: product engagement and Learn With NoveList. While our division is located in Durham, NC, this is a remote position.

The product engagement efforts include reviewing customer accounts to identify opportunities and develop strategies for libraries to become more effective at reaching readers, promoting their collections, and marketing their programs and services.

In support of Learn With NoveList, you will manage a wide range of responsibilities, from general administration of the site, uploading materials, and moderating discussion forums to creating and delivering live and recorded presentations on topics important to libraries.

The responsibilities:

Review key customer accounts and develop tailored engagement plans to drive satisfaction, product adoption and increased usage. Develop, deliver, and measure the success of these plans.  

  • Monitor product usage against key performance metrics to gauge engagement and product adoption; identify risks and provide interventions as needed
  • Review key customer accounts and develop tailored engagement plans to engage customers, drive satisfaction, product adoption and increase usage
  • Represent the “voice of the customer” in collaborations with product management and other teams
  • Host live webinars and develop and deliver trainings drawing on your expertise and thought leadership
  • Edit video footage and prepare recorded presentations for posting to training site
  • Manage recording sessions with instructors and review curriculum and materials
  • Assist on other department projects as needed

The Engagement Specialist reports to the Manager of Engagement and Services. You’ll work most closely with the Senior Engagement Consultant to help libraries leverage their product subscriptions and develop plans to increase usage; you also work closely with her on our new Learn With NoveList online course platform. Two graphic designers and a fellow Engagement Specialist round out the team.   

You’ll also work closely with our Product Management and Technical Support teams to ensure customers understand how to use our products. Finally, you will collaborate with the Sales & Marketing, Book Discovery, and Technology teams on a variety of projects.

What this job requires:

  • Bachelor’s degree or similar education in marketing, communications, education, or related field
  • 2+ years of proven experience in successfully writing, producing, and delivering online training or teaching
  • 2+ years working in marketing, public relations, communications, or a related field
  • Experience in video creation and editing (using Camtasia, Vimeo, YouTube, or similar)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)
  • Ability to travel occasionally when needed

  • Knowledge and a keen interest in the public library market including readers’ advisory and library marketing.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and proactively
  • Experience with a library, publisher or library-focused organization as an employee or volunteer
  • Extensive experience presenting at conferences
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, able to keep multiple projects with varying timelines on schedule
  • Experience with the NoveList suite of products, including LibraryAware.
  • Video production experience
