Executive Director, Creative Operations, CNX

CNX, our marketing, creative strategy, and production department is responsible for harnessing that power and passion to create and execute the industry’s most compelling programs, initiatives and partnerships.
The Executive Director, Creative Operations plays a critical role in ensuring CNX’s creative excellence is positioned and activated appropriately to capitalize on the marketplace opportunity. This role requires an advanced understanding of, and appreciation for, the strategic and operational aspects of the business, and a desire to maximize the potential and creative output of CNX. The ideal candidate has a foundational knowledge of revenue-driving creative studios, and a dedication to future-proofing strategy and process.
This role will report into the VP, Head of Design & Creative, and work with them to build a creative team that is energized by and integral to the needs and speed of Condé Nast’s commercial Business. This role will also partner with leadership cross-functionally to build an organization that fosters and accelerates creative ideation and execution. The ideal candidate is ready to challenge convention and traditional ways of working to improve creative development and delivery, with a specific focus on creative practices that are inclusive across diverse perspectives.
The Executive Director, Creative Operations will work with the VP, Head of Design & Creative to push the boundaries of how we create compelling programs for our clients, while also being aware of the business implications of these decisions. They will help build and constantly refine a creative excellence rubric, balancing the art and science of our offerings. They will be responsible for when and how our creative and design team is engaged when an opportunity enters the organization, and assist with the creative strategy for key accounts.
Partner with the VP, Head of Design & Creative to manage and nurture a team of inspired and motivated cross-functional creatives
Foster, communicate and represent a creative vision for CNX both internally and externally
Develop, implement and socialize processes for engagement with the Creative & Design team
Work with leadership across CNX to best capitalize on our creative offerings for the commercial marketplace
Help prioritize simultaneous projects with shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment Advise on creative strategy for key accounts
Identify solutions on how to optimize the team’s happiness, output, and visibility
Work with Commercial Sales Leadership on select creative-led opportunities
Contribute to long-term strategic planning with regard to marketing & creative roadmap development
Essential Skills & Requirements
10+ years at senior level in creative marketing organizations
Has experience working with both internal teams and agencies
Is an expert in optimizing how teams work
Possesses strong relationship building/partnering skills with the ability to work with varying levels of individual contributors and management
Passionate about creating a work environment conducive to amazing creativity
