We are looking for an ambitious, proactive, and driven individual to join Assembly on Microsoft Store’s leadership communications team to lead an expanding employee experience line of work.

Core Responsibilities:

  • You’ll partner with cross-functional team members to develop and execute leadership communications strategies, programs and tactics for one client, Microsoft.

  • Like all team members, you’ll roll up your sleeves and draft client deliverables, applying or creating tools, templates and methodologies that contribute to the client’s brand and reputation goals.

  • You will make smart recommendations. Sharing a point of view is encouraged and expected.

  • You will collaborate on presentations and support senior colleagues and senior clients in the delivery and management of consulting assignments.

Advisory Responsibilities:

  • Manage communications strategy and initiatives for C-level business executives within the Microsoft Retail team, with a particular focus on supporting the account lead on the communications platform for senior leaders of the Stores business.

  • Provide insights-led strategic counsel and recommendations to clients, in partnership with senior team managers (VP, SVP, EVP), and troubleshoot potential client and/or internal issues.

  • Help build stakeholder engagement strategy for leaders to connect and build relationships with key internal and external influencers.

Content/Events Responsibilities:

  • Develop presentations and talking points for a wide variety of executive leadership opportunities: from all-hands meetings to skip-level meetings, internal awards ceremonies to management speeches.

  • Develop PowerPoint presentations and accompanying narratives and talking points, to visually represent critical information such as team vision, initiatives and priorities. You will also set-up and assist in the facilitation of rehearsals to ensure leaders are well-prepared for speaking engagements.

  • Craft executive communications that effectively translate company goals and vision and help leaders connect with global employees.

  • Manage events including planning, content creation, logistics, catering, lodging, coordination of agendas and multiple vendors.

Project Management Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain roadmap and project tracker for the Executive Communications team, as well as maintain the rhythm of the business including facilitating bi-weekly team calls, overseeing key action items and projects, and helping the Account lead align the team on key business goals and focuses.

  • Oversee quality and operational performance of accounts, ensuring work quality and deadline adherence maps to client goals and budget parameters.

  • Supervise junior staff’s work products to ensure quality and consistency.

About You:

  • Have at least four years of hands-on experience in at least two of the following areas: employee communications, diversity and inclusion, change management, communications research, executive communications, corporate communications

  • Can demonstrate superior writing, editing and presentation skills; project management skills; and consultative skills (including effective questioning, critical thinking, client management and communication methodology application)

  • Strong desire to support one client for an extended period of time

  • Experience supporting executive communications strategy a plus

  • Ability to act as secondary client contact, and understand the nuance of stakeholder relationships – both internal to Assembly and at Microsoft

  • Superior written and verbal communications skills; demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, multitask, manage assignments and provide feedback on others’ work

  • Able to quickly grasp client goals and understand their key stakeholders: consumers, employees, investors, regulators, media, vendors, partners and other businesses/organizations, etc.

  • Have ability to earn the trust of clients and counsel them across a range of complex and evolving issues, working in partnership with senior members of internal team

  • Experience working with technology companies a plus
