The global Corporate Communications team at BlackRock is responsible for internal and external communications efforts that advance BlackRock's purpose of helping more and more people experience financial well-being. We work to develop compelling communications programmes that enhance the firm’s culture, drive growth, strengthen our reputation and build our brand.

Your role and impact

We are looking for two Analysts, based in London. One will support and drive external communications activities that shape and improve BlackRock’s overall message and brand and that build greater understanding of BlackRock’s commercial offerings and corporate affairs. This includes our sustainability and stewardship goals, financial reporting, legal, public policy and other critical issues work that shapes our firm’s reputation.

The second Analyst will focus on employee engagement and internal communications. You will draft employee communications, help manage town halls and create content for internal digital platforms. By assisting in creating, writing, delivering and measuring communications for a wide variety of programmes and campaigns, you will promote the firm’s corporate and business initiatives ultimately driving employee engagement.

Your responsibilities

External Communications Analyst:

  • Responsible for the management of media inquiries in a timely and efficient manner as well as contributing to the overall function of the Communications team.
  • Develop working relationships with business/financial and trade media across channels (print, broadcast and digital/social). Drive media interviews with trained spokespeople across the firm, ensuring the topic is defined and the spokesperson is briefed in advance with the relevant key messages.
  • Coordinate the planning and implementation of media events, roundtables and press conferences.
  • Support the rollout of communications strategies to deliver BlackRock content to targets through a multi-channel approach, including earned media, social media and owned digital properties.
  • Responsible for media monitoring and market sensing on key industry and geopolitical developments.
  • Support the team in writing, editing and repurposing materials to produce engaging content and contribute to the day-to-day management of the UK communications agency.
  • Contribute to the regular reporting on the effectiveness of the communications strategy, developing a solid understanding of the available measurement and metrics.

Internal Communications Analyst:

  • Write, edit and deliver engaging and useful content through storytelling via various internal channels while maintaining established editorial style.
  • Serve as project manager for internal campaigns and initiatives while collecting and documenting project requirements.
  • Act as communications advisor and partner to businesses and functions across the region to support their communications objectives.
  • Post and maintain communications and content on the company intranet, send emails and coordinate with technology teams to publish content on other channels.
  • Support the execution of town halls and events in partnership with broadcast teams.

You have …

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must, and you need to be comfortable working and interacting with leaders up and down the company as well as with colleagues and journalists around the world.
  • Strong project management skills are essential as is an eye for detail.
  • You should be highly motivated and well-organised. You must have an excellent work ethic and be comfortable with multitasking while in a fast-paced environment with the ability to handle tight deadlines.
  • We’re looking for people with a passion for the news, an interest in how it is made and why it is important in shaping the reputation of companies and individuals.
  • We are looking for people with a passion for helping employees do their jobs by providing the information, resources and tools they need.
  • You should be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of applications as well as social media platforms.
  • Experience in journalism, corporate communications or marketing is ideal (1+ year). If it happens to be in the financial services industry, then that’s even better (though not essential).
  • Bachelor’s degree with strong record of academic achievement is critical for us to get a sense of your sharp mind, inquisitive nature and an interest in the world around us.
