The Kansas City office of FleishmanHillard has an immediate opening for a Senior Account Executive with a healthcare and media background to join our team. This position provides the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with a collaborative team on high-level creative program development, social media/digital strategy, influencer marketing, media relations and crisis management.

Primary responsibilities for the Senior Account Executive include handling many of the day-to-day activities for the healthcare practice’s account teams, including working with senior members of the team to help oversee programs and interact daily with clients. Candidate will be expected to balance workload, manage daily account activities and deliverables, and be involved in strategic planning. In addition, the candidate will be involved in new business efforts.


  • Play a pivotal role for the healthcare practice’s account teams, including handle day-to-day logistics for the account team by driving and implementing public relations strategies for a variety of healthcare clients
  • Develop and monitor programs to ensure on time high quality client deliverables; report status to client and agency management on a regular basis.
  • Develop and edit high quality written materials, such as client and vendor communications, media communications, web site and social media copy and other internal and external communications materials
  • Develop relationships and coordinate correspondence with external audiences: patients, health-care professionals, media, etc.
  • Plan and execute events, including on-site activities, customer meetings and activities and key opinion leader networking
  • Play key role supporting clients at medical meetings, including both planning for and executing
  • Be flexible and facilitate teamwork within account team.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.


  • Minimum 2 years experience in public relations or communications, healthcare experience preferred
  • Experience driving large projects from beginning to end
  • Experience liaising with multiple team members, including creative; ability to collect and implement feedback
  • Experience communicating directly with client
  • Ability to manage multiple, deadline-driven projects with a high-level of attention to all details
  • Interest in research/analysis; excel at synthesizing and reporting
  • Strong writing ability; experience across various types (press releases, PR materials, analytical, social media)
  • Knowledge of healthcare/consumer health/trade media, as well as familiar with healthcare social media/stipulations
  • Experience pitching a variety of media including national, local, trade
  • Enjoys brainstorming and strategic planning
  • Ability to delegate; knows when to seek input and help from others
  • A self-starter with a thirst for knowledge, interest and desire to work in the ever-changing world of healthcare.
