Overview

We’re looking for a Communications Associate to join our work-from-anywhere team and support our communications and public affairs work with established, startup, and growth stage clients. This position requires a minimum of 15 hours per week, up to 30 hours per week. We love mission-driven clients and refuse to work with assh@les. 
 

The ideal candidate:

  • Has one to three years of communications experience
  • Is detail-oriented and able to manage microdetails while focusing on multiple projects
  • Is ready to roll up their sleeves to complete any task, big or small
  • Is energized by supporting and driving coverage of mission-oriented startups and growth stage companies 
  • Exhibits strong writing skills in various contexts
  • Embraces original thinking and comes to team brainstorms with innovative ideas 
  • Is familiar with Slack, Google Docs, and multiple video conference platforms, as well as media and social media monitoring tools, such as Meltwater and Hootsuite 
  • Is eager to learn the ins and outs of working in communications, public relations, and public affairs with social impact entrepreneurs
  • Is a self-starter who asks questions!
 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Media monitoring and preparing morning news clips 
  • Drafting interview and client briefs
  • Developing and organizing press lists and media coverage
  • Researching topics and organizations to support our clients and our team’s work
  • Providing administrative support, such as taking notes, drafting agendas, and scheduling 
 

This role is remote and will be compensated commensurate with experience, starting at $30/hour.
