The Digital team at BerlinRosen powers the digital and social media campaigns of some of the nations most ambitious foundations, real estate companies, innovative tech companies, impactful racial justice organizations and progressive political and advocacy campaigns. From the steps of the Supreme Court to Silicon Valley, to the border in Texas, to the boardrooms in New York, our team builds momentum, creates buzz and drives action with digital strategies, paid advertising, content creation, social media, and online organizing.


We are looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented Digital Art Director who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and loves the challenge of discovering what makes an audience engage with design. This is a unique opportunity to influence campaigns for clients leading innovation across different industries from issue advocacy to global architecture and everything in between. Reporting to and working closely with our Senior Vice President, Art Direction, you will collaborate with a small hands-on design team to execute social/digital concepts for our clients. You will translate content strategies and brand narratives into powerful storytelling experiences across the digital space. Your ideas should engage targeted audiences in relevant yet unexpected ways.

To succeed as a Digital Art Director, you must be a champion for digital-first, creative storytelling with excellent communication and project/time management skills. You should be willing to push boundaries yet refine ideas into relevant and fresh creative for our clients while also staying within the confines set by a clients brand or audience.

Note: BerlinRosen staff are currently working from home. Our offices will reopen in a hybrid model (date TBD). Our return to office plan is contingent on public health safety protocols. On an optional basis, our DC and NY offices are currently open to staff (with proof of vaccination). This position is currently available for a remote location within the United States, though an eventual location in New York City is preferred.


Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to. . .

  • Working in partnership with account team members to concept, design, and execute multiple client projects simultaneously like social graphics, digital marketing (email and social), online advertising campaigns, and other ad hoc projects, as needed
  • Establishing art direction, style and tone for brand campaigns across all channels
  • Ensuring visual designs adhere to project requirements, objectives, and timelines upholding brand standards across all projects with a keen eye for typography, graphic design, and illustration
  • Managing and mentoring digital design team members and freelancers including, reviews, workflows, timelines and design delegation
  • Interpreting complex ideas into visual narratives and brainstorming strategies with senior team members
  • Creating simple animations, gifs, and editing videos for client campaigns
  • Presenting creative or brand strategy to clients



Our ideal candidate demonstrates or possesses the following:

  • 5+ years experience with design and art direction in an agency setting (or comparable environment)
  • Conceptual thinking and hands-on design skills
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced work environment and work both independently and as part of a team
  • Superior knowledge and skills with Adobe CS Suite; with a familiarity of video editing and animation
  • Experience of Web Flow, Asana and mailchimp is a plus
  • Detail-oriented, efficient, organized, highly productive, and collaborative approach to work
  • Expert knowledge of typography, color, layout, production, and other design principles
  • Knowledge of file naming, file formats, pixel dimensions, web optimization, and design accessibility
  • Adaptability in changing your design aesthetic and approach to fit a variety of campaigns and audiences within the span of a few hours
  • Can stay cool under pressure and can quickly change priorities to meet a last-minute deadline
  • Well-versed in every step of design, and skilled at interpreting complex ideas visually through color, photography and typography
  • Experience communicating and managing the design process with clients
