Marsh is actively recruiting for an Internal Communications Specialist who can be based either in our United States (U.S.) East Coast or London (U.K) Marsh offices.

We’re embarking on an operational excellence (OPEX) Transformation to enable a brilliant colleague and client experience. Reporting to the Senior Vice President for OPEX Transformation Communications, you’ll be part of an expert and dynamic communications team, charged with informing, inspiring, and involving our 40,000 Marsh colleagues worldwide.

 

What can you expect?

You’ll work on our OPEX Transformation communications campaigns and projects, with colleagues from across the globe. We work quickly and flexibly, empowering you to work independently - all in a supportive and collaborative environment that has your career development and wellbeing at its heart.

Your role will be global in scope, with a particular focus on our International division employee audience. This comprises colleagues based in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Australasia. You’ll take complex topics and transform them into compelling content, across multiple digital and traditional channels. It’s a varied and interesting role that will stretch and grow your communications skills and expertise.  

You’ll help develop communications plans for a range of internal audiences and manage multiple complex tasks in a fast-paced environment. Day-to-day, you’ll work with colleagues and get creative with email and intranet copy, conceptualize and coordinate videos, brainstorm effective Yammer communications and produce winning presentation decks that inspire and excite. You’ll also champion our Transformation journey throughout the business, forging strong relationships with change-makers and influencers to drive engagement from the ground up.

We will count on you to:

  • Create and deploy effective communications plans aligned with our global OPEX Transformation communications strategy and in support of priority workstreams and initiatives

  • Create comprehensive stakeholder analyses and plans to support change adoption and sustainment, with a key focus on our International division

  • Transform technical language and concepts into compelling content, across multiple internal channels

  • Collaborate with our in-house multimedia creative team to create engaging videos, presentations and other digital content

  •  Support communications to the wider operations and technology (O&T) employee audience who also underpin the OPEX agenda

  •  Work closely with a range of colleagues throughout the business, gaining alignment across key stakeholders and regional communications counterparts

 

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, human resources or related field of study

  • 5+ years of communications or marketing experience

  • Skilled at creating engaging business communications multimedia content e.g. presentations, video, intranet, animation, design

  • Excellent writing, editing, and persuasive writing skills

  • Strong verbal communication and client relationship skills, able to confidently and persuasively explain communications ideas and themes to key stakeholders

  • A good sense of humor, patience and perseverance as we navigate a complex program and strive to make a meaningful impact, always inspired by Marsh’s Possibility purpose
