Overview

This position supports The National COVID-19 Resiliency Network (www.msm.edu/ncrn) within the National Center for Primary Care at Morehouse School of Medicine with national-level communications and marketing efforts. This position will report directly to the Director, Communications & Dissemination and will have the following responsibilities:
External Communications
  • Website/App
    • Develop content roll out calendar for ensuring partner resource submissions are added to the NCRN website (Salesforce platform) in collaboration with Salesforce Administrator and Communications Coordinator.
    • Manage tracking of website updates needed to inform partners of COVID-19 News and new COVID-19 educational messages and materials.
    • Draft copy to describe NCRN events, educational resources, and website/app features persuasively and succinctly.
    • Newsletter
      • Develop outlines for each quarterly newsletter and assist in the development of topics of interest to partners to yield increased opens and clicks by subscribers.
      • Manage newsletter schedule; co-develop and/or review drafts of newsletter  
      • Engage with NCRN partners to highlight success stories of their COVID-19 response efforts in the community.
      • Social Media
        • Inform, review, and provide feedback on social media content and graphics part of NCRN-developed COVID campaigns and those from national and federal partners (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Institutes of Health, American Public Health Association, etc.)
        • Co-develops social media content calendar with Communications Coordinator, and guides Interns and Graduate Research Assistants with implementation


 
  • Event Marketing (virtual)
    • Drafts promotional content for virtual events (webinar)
    • Manage development of event registration pages in collaboration with MSM Office of Marketing and Communications or external vendors (e.g. Sherpa)
    • Support technical implementation of quarterly webinars targeting partners and lay community members by drafting of Run-of-Shows, scripts, and other cues for production.
    • Review and report out on post-event evaluations (e.g. surveys, polls, etc.)
    • Co-develop national and local partner cross-promotion toolkits to help them spread the word of the event to their internal organization and public constituents.
 
  • Media Relations
    • Assist with drafting news/press releases
    • Assist with scheduling media interviews with NCRN subject matter experts and NCRN Director/Principal Investigator
    • Monitor and manage tracking of mentions of NCRN in the news media
    • Assist with tracking media contacts email and phone numbers.
Advertising
  • Contribute ideas to inform creative direction of advertisements on social media, TV, radio, and other digital platforms.
  • Draft and/or review radio and TV scripts for .15, .30, and .60 second ad buys
  • Collaborate with the team to provide feedback to ad agencies on creative deliverables
Project Management
    • Draft and update project and/or creative briefs for the development of new collateral, webinars, and other projects.
    • Review and triage internal and external partner COVID-19 resource submissions to the appropriate dissemination channel
    • Assist with grant reporting of Communications/Dissemination activities and outcomes.
    • Manage storage of advertising, social media, and website data in Microsoft Teams
    • Co-develop and manage project timelines and requirements in project management tools (e.g. Asana, Smartsheet, etc.).
    • Manage triaging and assist with fulfilment of technical assistance request from NCRN partners that are focused on strategic communications and health marketing, in collaboration with the Director, Communications Coordinator and Strategic Advisor.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Demonstrated knowledge of strategic communications and marketing principles
Health Communications Campaign planning, implementation and evaluation experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability to engage external and internal collaborative partners.Ability to complete projects in a timely manner, managing project timelines and staff resources (e.g. external contractors).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to analyze, assemble, prepare and organize marketing data (web, social, and newsletter analytics).
Must possess excellent spelling, grammar, and proofreading skills. May be asked to assist in writing and editing technical and/or scientific documentation.
Proficient knowledge of social media platform management and engagement strategies
Ability to use the computer for access to the Internet, Intranet
Proficient knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Teams) and desktop publishing applications.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Salesforce applications preferred (Marketing Cloud, Social Studio).
