The Learning Community, a vibrant public charter school, seeks a creative, energetic Communications Coordinator interested in being part of a close-knit and collaborative school community. The Communications Coordinator will develop clear external communications strategies to support the goals and mission of our school.  This role will maintain the website, social media platforms, and develop communications strategies for various audiences and stakeholders. Our team enjoys autonomy, collaboration, leadership, and opportunities for growth. Spanish language skills are a plus.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Manage communications calendar
  • Manage social media accounts and content creation
  • Work collaboratively with the team to highlight student voices, classwork, days of action, and schoolwide events
  • Research best practices and latest communications trends, platforms, and strategy
  • Manage website updates and coordinate annual website review to ensure all information is up to date, page content is consistent and well organized, and navigation is intuitive
  • Facilitate creation of The Learning Community’s Annual Report
  • Act as main press contact and maintain a list of media outlets and contacts
  • Multimedia Content Creation. Create visual content - video, photos and graphics - for rapid response social media and brand marketing.
  • Develop and maintain a sharable digital library of messaging documents, scripts, videos, photos, graphics etc.

Key qualities:
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Experience in content management, copywriting, and web design
  • Analytical and multitasking skills
  • Familiar with social media platforms and best practices
  • Skilled storyteller. Ability to deliver creative content through text, image, and video
  • Art and design skills a plus (photography, videography, graphic design, and branding)
