Kaplow is looking for motivated, organized and nimble Account Supervisors (AS) to support several accounts in its Lifestyle and Beauty practices.

The ideal Lifestyle candidates will have a “corpsumer” background, with experience ranging from brand and product communications to thought leadership and executive positioning.

The ideal Beauty candidates will have a passion for both traditional PR/media relations and the influencer marketing industry.

The Account Supervisor plays a critical role on our teams, developing and implementing strategies and leading account teams with several team members. The AS will have daily interaction with the client, take an advanced role in the preparation of communications plans for clients and is expected to consistently deliver superior media relations results for clients.

Account Director and above

RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to)
  • Serve as a key day-to-day client contact, gaining and maintaining client confidence in ability to strategize, execute and anticipate
  • Develop and implement programming that generates meaningful results for clients
  • Write impactful client recommendations, press releases, pitches, client memos and other materials
  • Run meetings and calls, speaking frequently and with confidence; able to present ideas and concepts effectively
  • Establish and build strong relationships with key media, consistently securing media coverage that meets client objectives
  • Manage time and responsibilities in an often fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Proactively mentor and manage junior team members
  • Participate in new business pitches, as needed

  • Five plus years of public relations experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Communications, Journalism, English, Business, or a related discipline
  • Lifestyle: A mix of corporate and consumer communications experience preferred, with proven relationships across consumer / lifestyle and business media.
  • Beauty: Established relationships with key media and industry partners in the Beauty space (influencer platforms, management agencies), editors, influencers/experts and content creators.
  • Ability to think critically, creatively and strategically with a keen attention to detail
  • Experience providing top notch client service, including excellent communication and writing, strong account management skills and an eagerness to jump in and contribute
  • Leadership skills that inspire the confidence of supervisors, clients, direct reports and colleagues
  • Ability to understand complex topics and synthesize into subjects of interest for the media
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to comfortably run high-level meetings
  • Demonstrate outstanding judgment when working with team members, clients, media and vendors.
