The Walton Family Foundation is seeking a skilled, highly motivated and entrepreneurial individual to join the foundation as a Communications Officer.

About the position:
Specific duties include the following:
  • Collaborate with senior communications officer to execute strategic communications that advance the Foundation’s goals in the Home Region
  • Help manage relationships with program officers to ensure all communications efforts help them reach their programmatic goals
  • Build relationships with key audience groups, including grantees, influencers, and reporters, to help advance the foundation’s work
  • Help design earned, owned, and paid communications strategies to help reach programmatic goals
  • Generate content for earned, owned, and paid media.
  • Help manage internal calendars to ensure communications efforts complement all program areas and the broader foundation communications strategy

Basic qualifications required for your success
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including news releases and talking points or key messages
  • Excellent digital skills i.e. proficient in social media management, basic knowledge of content management systems and ability to identify measures of a successful digital campaign
  • Experience working on government, political campaigns, or communications agencies as part of the communications/PR team
