Invisible Hand is looking for a Strategist, Culture & Social Impact to work across a variety of projects in our rapidly growing, social impact and culture change agency. Our team’s mission is to use culture, cause, and live experiences to spin the world forward with great equality and opportunity for all. We work to build category-defining content and experiences and meaningfully move key business metrics by delivering world-class creative. Our client roster includes Spotify, Archewell Foundation, PBS, Planned Parenthood, and others. 

 

As the Strategist on our team, you will use your knowledge of narrative change, movement building and communications to draw insights that can be translated into actionable, top-tier strategies and creative campaigns. A creative and highly networked team player who can build and leverage meaningful relationships with stakeholders, you will draw from a deep understanding of culture to identify the right talent and creative partners for projects.This a role for someone who is deeply creative and also strategic with strength in both right- and left-brained thinking. 

We are on the quest to find someone invested and tapped into culture—a tastemaker with extensive knowledge of and/or passion for the arts, social political issues, gender equity issues, etc. This role reports to the founder and will be the driving force behind the day-to-day strategy of multiple projects and campaigns and the small, diverse team that achieves them. 

This is a full-time exempt position. Occasional evening and weekend work should be expected.

 

Here’s a sampling of what you’ll do day-to-day: 

  • Engage with senior leaders on client teams to draw out the broader context and gain a clear understanding of a client’s problem or goals.
     
  • Research and stay current on subjects and individuals related to assigned projects, which could include criminal justice, gender justice, climate action, racial justice, DEI and politics.
     
  • Create a broad range of polished deliverables to articulate strategic direction and execution for projects, including brand or individual thought leadership messaging, strategic plans, talking points, and more.
     
  • Research, write and concept programming for roundtables and events—large and small scale.
     
  • Evaluate and identify thought leadership opportunities for clients.
     
  • Work in close collaboration with the Founder of Invisible Hand and the Creative team, not only leading your own workstreams but supporting the team’s work as well.
     
  • Develop strategic insights that will inspire creative campaigns, partnering with the Agency’s creative team in collaborative creative sessions.
     
  • Cultivate a network of thought leaders, experts, and influencers that you can cast and tap for creative activations.
     
  • Collaborate with clients to define and track project KPIs and measures of success.
     
  • Respond to RFPs, actively participate in creative ideation and concepting.
     
  • Aid in new business deck development, ensuring integrity and feasibility of proposals prior to sharing with prospective clients.
     

Here's what we're looking for:
 

  • You have at least five years’ relevant experience. This could be in social impact or creative agencies, political campaigns, strategic communications, or other fields. We would be excited about candidates from a number of backgrounds, so long as they know how to do the work! Editorial experience (especially nonfiction or informational programming at a media or journalistic organization) is a plus.
     
  • Proven knowledge of social impact issues and an ability to drive compelling strategy in those realms.
     
  • You are a strategic thinker and leader who can act as a trusted partner and advisor to clients across a broad range of outputs, from thought leadership to organizational strategy to public campaigns.
     
  • You have a deep and growing rolodex of inspiring thought leaders, cultural artbiters, policy experts, and other leaders who belong in our campaigns and on our stages.
     
  • You exhibit professionalism and integrity, leading by example, treating people with respect, and seeking and giving constructive feedback.
     
  • You have excellent written and oral communication skills. You are a great listener; communicate concisely and evocatively in written text; and can present to a boardroom, a small NGO, and anyone else we aim to serve.
     
  • You are able to manage competing demands and the moving pieces of multiple complex projects, yet remain unflappable under deadline pressure.
