Expedia Group is looking for a Research and Insights Manager to work as part of a team that builds confidence in and commitment to Expedia Group’s strong future. As the Research and Insights Manager your charter will support the Communications organization in research infrastructure, centralized performance insights, survey and research projects, and business reporting critical to optimizing our innovation and impact

What you’ll do:

  • Manage research projects, including working with agencies and contractors and across the organization  

  • Expansive media monitoring for what is trending managed in a repository of content, and used to inform a brain trust for external storytelling and survey design 

  • Mine data to identify compelling insights for engagement, sentiment, and industry trends 

  • Advance communications analytics and research methodologies  

  • Thought partnership for defining targets and comparisons 

  • Rethink data sources to provide greater knowledge to stakeholders and partners 

  • Develop an understanding of specific communications and strategic challenges to solve through stronger measurement and data 

  • Develop and manage research and measurement working groups 

  • Develop and manage scorecards and infrastructure for business reporting and reviews 

  • A centralized approach to measurement and reporting to create efficiency and a common language  

  • System for collecting insights and sentiment to improve communications strategies and partner influence 

  • Process for practical, efficient, and visually compelling business reviews, tying communications objectives and activity directly to the success of the business 

  • Create a research program that brings in creative and first in industry trend data, enhancing the impact of speaking engagements and media footprint 

Who you are:

  • Communications industry knowledge: Demonstrates hands-on understanding of the communications practice

  • Technical communication: Communicates with clarity and precision, presenting complex information in an audience-appropriate, concise format

  • Data visualization: Designs visually appealing and user-friendly data visualizations to support business decisions and insights

  • Systems thinking: Takes a whole systems approach to analyze business issues and implements holistic solutions, ensuring linkages between structure, people, process, and technology

  • Project management: Demonstrates the discipline of planning, organizing, and managing resources and activities to achieve specified outcomes within a clearly defined timeframe and standards

  • Measurement: Measures and assesses efficiency and effectiveness of programs, campaigns, and channels through devising methods and procedures for collecting data

  • Data analysis: Collects, analyzes, and interprets data to reach conclusions and present insights and findings

  • Business partnership: Trusted advisor in developing communications impact on the business and industry

  • 3+ years of experience developing and driving significant and sustained change and performance improvement from data-driven insights in a number of different areas or contexts
