FleishmanHillard has an immediate opening for a Managing Supervisor with strong background leading brand marketing, corporate reputation, media relations and multicultural public relations programs to join our high-growth North Carolina office.

This position provides the opportunity to work with global teams on award-winning communications that integrate brand & reputation programs into strategic business efforts. This individual will oversee strategic PR planning, creative ideation, high profile national media relations strategy, executive communications and more for Fortune-ranked clients. As a key member of our social impact group, this individual will also work on purpose-based community campaigns that creatively help clients deliver equity and inclusivity, in addition to supporting our own internal FH 4 Inclusion initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a day-to-day client contact for corporate reputation, brand marketing and CSR teams, including managing program implementation, teams, timelines, deliverables and budgets.
  • Lead top-tier national media relations for Fortune-ranked clients; maintain strong media relationships, pitch sophisticated ideas, and be responsible for developing creative written materials that deeply understand our clients’ business.
  • Build creative PR programs and audience-centric marketing campaigns that support and engage diverse audiences including women, people of color, members of the LGBTQ community, veterans and individuals with different abilities.
  • Develop and edit high quality written materials, including pitches, messaging, recommendation and planning documents, and executive communications.
  • Review/assess industry trends to identify opportunities to inject clients into current news cycles; drive story idea development and work closely with media to shape and control communications that are in line with overall account objectives.
  • Anticipate, address and counsel on a wide range of complex issues, supporting senior leaders in developing crisis management and preparedness strategies and trainings, and helping clients spot and prepare for potential reputational threats across campaigns.
  • Generate incremental business opportunities with clients by taking a broad view of the entire communications mix and offering strategic recommendations to drive innovative and award-winning integrated communications programs.
  • Be an effective and trusted resource to corporate reputation clients, proactively providing insights, expertise and thought leadership perspectives.
  • Champion regional diversity, equity, inclusion and culture efforts for FleishmanHillard including serving as a liaison to global DE&I leadership for regional office initiatives, staff mentorship and reinforcing a culture of inclusivity.

Key Qualifications
The successful candidate must be results oriented and have a strong understanding of current trends in in media and corporate reputation management. Experience executing global corporate reputation programs is a plus. Additionally, candidates should have:
  • 7-9 years of results-driven, media-focused experience in corporate communications, with a deep background developing and executing brand and reputation programs, including business media relations, executive communications, shared value, sustainability, and/or corporate responsibility. Agency experience is a must and in-house experience is a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of top-tier business media and close working relationships with national reporters ranging in topic and focus – from innovation to the future of retail. A demonstrated hands-on media approach is required.
  • Experience managing executive media tours, earnings and investor days, executive thought leadership programs, as well as developing executive platforms and conducting media training for c-level spokespersons.
  • Superior research and writing skills, with the ability to package information in clear, cohesive ways and develop and edit high-quality materials (e.g., executive strategies, strategic communications plans, executive presentations, keynotes, bylined articles/op-eds, briefing documents, trend analysis summaries, etc.).
  • Ability to engage with and counsel senior level decision-makers across the client’s business and deliver connective insights to assist clients in driving alignment and execution of cross-company initiatives.  Candidate should have experience building relationships and working with diverse stakeholders effectively.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing communications plans and the ability to draft and implement strategic public relations programs within budget.
  • Experience managing and coordinating projects with multiple work streams, including managing junior team members, both directly and indirectly.
  • Broad business understanding, strong analytical abilities and critical, creative thinking.
  • Ability to illustrate a results-focused approach and commitment to going the extra mile for clients. Experience working directly with clients on day-to-day activities.
  • Energetic, self-starter and resourceful problem solver – gets things moving and keeps them on track. High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple ongoing activities.
