Position Overview

As digital communications continue to increase in prevalence and importance, we are working to build a strong social media team that understands the power of communications and has a passion for exploring strategies to disseminate messages to our audiences across the digital sphere.

We are looking for a Social Media Manager to join the PolicyLink communications team. The Social Media Manager will work in partnership with our current Social Media Manager and Director of Digital Communications to develop social media strategy for key bodies of work across the organization, as well as aligned executive social strategy and content to further amplify the organization’s work. Key tasks include developing effective social media strategies, creating content and copy, developing systems and processes to support the social media team, and leveraging analytics to support iterative strategies. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of social media platforms, understanding the nuances of crafting content for different platforms. They will be quick to notice trends in the evolving social media landscape and use those insights to inform strategy.

Responsibilities

· Develop an overarching social media strategy to include social listening, posting, engagement, and analysis.

· Develop equity-focused social media content to grow various projects and campaigns, working closely with program    teams.

· Create multimedia cross-platform content: tweets/posts, shareable graphics, audiograms, social media cards, short       videos, etc. to promote messaging.

· Align social assets across digital platforms including social, email, and web.

· Develop social content for organizational leaders to amplify the work of the organization.

· Disseminate content in a strategic and timely manner.

· Stay abreast of the social media landscape to offer creative suggestions and solutions to organizational needs.

· Conduct social listening and engagement with networks to inform and execute growth strategies.

· Leverage reactive and proactive relationship-building strategies to grow partnerships and broaden network reach.

· Develop and manage operational processes, such as content gathering and approval.

· Source creative assets, such as photos, to increase the appeal of content.

· Attend and co-lead regular meetings with the digital and social teams.

· Participate as a member of the PolicyLink communications team bringing lessons and insights to support the                 evolution of our communications strategy.

Desired Skills and Experience

· Deep knowledge of Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook; knowledge of other social apps and ability to grow select    audiences (e.g.: Clubhouse, TikTok, YouTube).

· Proven ability to develop relevant, relatable content and organically grow audiences.

· Understanding of analytics; ability to engage with analytics reports from various platforms.

· Familiarity with industry trends and relevant content creators; curiosity about what’s happening online and ability to      stay on top of the constant churn.

· Established track record of running online campaigns with a clear system of tracking metrics on both engagement        and conversion.

· Commitment to racial and economic equity coupled with the ability to compellingly communicate to a variety of               audiences.

· Very strong written communication skills.

· Ability to create compelling social graphics.

· Comfortable with administrative duties such as scheduling and fielding inquiries.

· Highly collaborative and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

· Experience participating in projects with changing needs and priorities.

· Comfortable with deadlines and communicating when blockers arise.

Work Environment

· Co-leads the social media department with another Social Media Manager.

· Managed by the Director of Digital Communications, reports to the Vice President of Communications.

· Location is flexible, this position can be remote.

Position Type

Exempt, 100% full-time, 40 hours per week.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $85,000, depending upon experience.
