Department Description:  
The Office of University Communications is responsible for the strategic management of the University’s overall public relations and reputation management activities. The department provides leadership, counsel and services to over 200 communicators across campus and works with those communicators to ensure a unified campus-wide communications strategy. Areas within University Communications include: Executive Communications, Media Relations, Internal Communications, Content Development, Social Media, Marketing Communications, Strategic Resources, Issues Management, Community Relations, Public Records, the UNC-Chapel Hill Visitor’s Center, and UNC Creative.

UNC Creative, the award-winning in-house design agency for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is seeking a Project Coordinator. This is a key position in the department and will work closely with the UNC Creative team, clients across campus and outside print vendors. This is a perfect position for someone interested in joining a talented team to manage creative projects ranging from print pieces to digital publications and an array of visual identity and brand projects in between. 

Reporting to the Manager of UNC Creative, the Project Coordinator will work closely with the Manager to estimate projects, assign projects and create production schedules. The Project Coordinator will oversee the workflow in the office and ensure that each designer has an even and manageable project list. This will involve managing a list and calendar of all projects as they come through the office, keeping track of upcoming projects and managing time and schedules for the entire office, among other things. The Project Coordinator will communicate directly with clients about estimates, schedules, budgets and any questions regarding those topics. 

The Project Coordinator will handle print coordination for all print projects that flow through the UNC Creative office. This person will communicate with the print vendors and UNC Purchasing (where appropriate) to obtain the best price, work through print specs, handle the proofing and ensure an on-time delivery.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:  
This position requires excellent organizational, planning and budgeting skills, as well as the ability to clearly communicate project details and logistics. A high level of customer service skills, the ability to adapt easily, follow through and complete tasks are essential. An understanding of the creative field and the processes of managing print and digital projects is a must in order to support the variety of design projects the UNC Creative team produces.
Education Requirements:  
Preferred Qualifications:  
Project management experience in an advertising agency, marketing firm, higher education, or other such setting. Strong computer skills and experience using project management software is preferred.
Required Licenses/Certifications:  
Qualifications and Experience:  
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
